I am a widow. I was married for almost 40 years to a wonderful Christian man who God saw fit to take to Glory. Thanking God for the years He gave my husband to me and for His grace in leading me daily in this new walk of life.

One Month
I'm still here walking the walk. It's just been rather busy the past week. It seems there's been a lot to keep up with lately but thankful for the strength God has given and how He has helped me through some really "missing my hubby times" which is pretty much all the time. Last week I was anticipating his birthday, the first without him, of course, and I think it was getting me down. But to show how God gives us the grace, the day of his birthday was much better than the two days before. I know a lot of people were praying for us that day. We did miss him dearly but we made it through. Since this is now a new day, yesterday was a month of him passing. In some ways it doesn't seem it's been that long and others it seems like forever. I know with all my times of feeling down that God will lift me up because I trust His Word and He is always faithful!!!! This is a wondrous time of the year to remember what Christ did for us on the cross, how He was buried and that He arose again. We serve a risen Saviour! Praise God for all He has done, is doing and will continue to do for us!

Darlene, your blog has been an inspiration to me. I am not even sure you are aware of how you are helping me and also others when you share how God is guiding you through the days in this new walk of life. He is your strength to whom you turn to when you are at your lowest and He never lets you down. He is your light when you are at your darkest moment and He never lets you down. He comforts you when you shed tears of loneliness, and He never lets you down. All He asks is for you to surrender and admit your weakness. One of my favorite hymns is "GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU" and it seems so appropriate for you, Darlene:
ReplyDeleteBe not dismayed whate’er betide, God will take care of you;
Beneath His wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.
Refrain:
God will take care of you,
Through every day, o’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you.
All you may need He will provide,
God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you.
No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
God will take care of you.
Is this not a wonderful Hymn? Darlene, God does take care of you daily by walking with you through the sadness and grief you experience, but He is using the experience in you to help others. This blog is doing just that. When we read your postings of your "New Walk of Life", it inspires us to reach out to God when we are struggling for one reason or another. He wants us to turn to Him always, no matter what. You have proven that He has sustained you through difficult days, and without Him, we are lost. Darlene, I know the hurt and void in your heart will always be there, but knowing God is in control of that hurt and void, is a tremendous comfort. Thank you for those of us who take strength and comfort in reading your posts. May God continue using you to help others. You are truly a blessing to all of us. Skip and I continue to lift you and your family up in prayer. Love you big. Irene
Thank you, Irene, for your kind remarks and for sharing that great hymn. It does give great comfort that God is in control and taking care of me each step of the way. Love you big, too!
ReplyDeleteI miss your posts. I hope you are doing well. We all miss you!! Love you.
